COLLINGWOOD COMET SOCCER CLASSIC

Please consider this your invitation to be involved in the Second Annual ‘Collingwood
Comet Soccer Classic’.
The combination of a tremendous Youth Soccer League and the wonderful reputation
Collingwood has, as a tourist destination, makes hosting a Soccer Tournament
a natural fit!
The popularity of Soccer on a National Level has been mirrored within The
Collingwood Optimist Youth Soccer League. Last year our numbers topped
the 1400 mark; making us the biggest, by far, Youth recreational group
in Collingwood and surrounding area. Our numbers are amazing but topping
that off is our successes. Over the past 5 years we have consistently won
the majority of divisions in the Simcoe County Youth Soccer League, we
have won Championship Divisions within the Central Girls Soccer League,
due to demand we have implemented All-Star divisions and a development
program, we currently have 10 District players, have one Regional player,
have produced two Provincial Players and can boast one National Player!
The time was right for us to take the next step – to host our own
tournament! For years our teams have traveled throughout Ontario competing
at various tournaments; the resounding question/statement was always heard
was ‘when will Collingwood host?’ ‘ we want to go to
Collingwood!’ Last season we answered that call. Our 1st tournament
was a huge success. We want to build on that success this year!!!
To ensure the success of ‘our’ Tournament we are offering 4
levels of sponsorship. Please look over the different programs and find
the right match for you and your business. Sponsorship slots will be assigned
on a first come basis. In order to give our major sponsors maximum coverage
we are limiting the number of ‘Platinum’ Sponsors to 3 and ‘Gold’ Sponsors
to 12.

This is a very exciting time for Soccer in Canada as well as in Collingwood.
Wwe hope to play host to 80 teams over the course of the June 17th -19th,
2005 weekend!! This will be a major ‘boost’ to our Town economy
at a time of year that is typically considered between seasons! Don’t
